The Nghi Son 1 Thermal Power Plant is one of the major thermal power projects developed within the Nghi Son Economic Zone, financed through Official Development Assistance (ODA) from the Government of Japan and developed by Vietnam Electricity (EVN) as the project owner.
The project had a total investment of approximately VND 22.26 trillion, of which 85% was financed through Japanese ODA loans provided by the Government of Japan via the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). The remaining 15% was funded by EVN as counterpart capital.
With substantial international financing and the participation of major institutions from Vietnam and Japan, Nghi Son 1 represents a significant energy infrastructure project, contributing to the expansion and reliability of Vietnam’s national power generation system.
